Function

As a Front-end Developer at Nelson Schoenen B.V. in Hoofddorp, you know precisely how to constantly surprise customers with extraordinary ease of use. You will ensure that users can find what they’re looking for – quickly and easily. You won’t be doing this on your own but with a team of ambitious colleagues led by Justin van Wees. Together you will do everything in your power to provide the customers of Nelson’s digital channels and systems an optimal experience. 

All this means that as Front-end Developer at Nelson Schoenen B.V., you will be involved with, amongst other things:

  • The customer side. From A to Z. From the web shops right through to all the other systems the customer will come into contact with.
  • Improvements and new features. Every two weeks, in collaboration with your team, you will determine what these are.
  • Making (UI) designs and implementing them. 
  • Monitoring the latest developments in the field of interface design and web development, and proposing well-reasoned advice about the developments that are relevant for Nelson for enhancing usability and increasing conversion.

The head office of Nelson Schoenen B.V. is located in Hoofddorp, close to Schiphol and a stone’s throw from the A4. Your office chair has been reserved for you here so that you can work on the growth of Nelson with your team. As Front-end Developer, you will be part of the Development team, consisting of 6 colleagues. These are developers, designers and marketeers. At Nelson, a lot of things are built ‘from scratch’, but collaborations with other organisations, including e-commerce ones, are also engaged in. 


Requirements

You possess an insatiable hunger for digital developments. You’re a brilliant and ambitious Front-end Developer with a razor-sharp focus on user interface and user experience. You’re inquisitive, love to experiment and to share your ideas and insights with your colleagues. To ensure not only that Nelson’s digital channels and systems work effortlessly smoothly but that they also look fantastic, you will also possess the necessary design skills. 

Additionally, for this job vacancy for a Front-end Developer at Nelson Schoenen B.V., you will have:

  • at least two years’ experience as Front-end Developer:
    • preferably in an e-commerce environment
    • with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • with UI/UX and automated testing
    • with version management (Git) and creating SEO-friendly solutions

An added bonus is experience with frameworks such as React, AngularJS or Vue.
